The fuel vapor is going to get in the cabin now no matter what you do as it is exiting under the driver seat. If you left the hard line running under the hood the fuel vapor would at least be venting away from the interior. The hardline can be vented to the intake to keep the fumes to a reasonable level. Again, do not remove the check valve. It's main purpose is to prevent fuel from flowing out of the tank in the event of a rollover. Removing it will do nothing to reduce vapors.
